ESMERAY

Esmeray began studying Oriental Dance in May 2005, inspired by a desire to be more uninhibited in her movements -- whether on stage, on the dance floor, or just in everyday life. After her very first class, she knew she had found an art form that is as challenging as it is beautiful; uniquely and powerfully feminine; and, yes, liberating. And along with the dance itself came a world of music, culture, and fascinating people that she was thrilled to be a part of. Her music background has led her to explore Middle Eastern music on a deeper level, including studying with the world renowned percussionist Issam Houshan. 

Esmeray delights audiences with her playfully flirtatious demeanor.  As a member of the Ayaat Dancers, she wishes to invite more people to share the joy she has found in this world, foster a greater understanding of the cultures from which this art form springs, and just put on a great show!
