AYAAT MIDDLE EASTERN DANCE TROUPE

AYAAT, meaning "verses" in Arabic, is the troupe consisting of some of Aya's most dedicated student dancers.

The members of Ayaat are passionate about the art of Oriental Dance (Belly Dance) on a deeper level, studying not only physical but  cultural, social, historical, mental, and spiritual aspects.  Regardless of the situation, even when inconvenient, they represent Middle Eastern Dance and Culture with dignity and respect. As dancers, they have the ambition and strength of spirit needed to learn and improve continuously, for no other reason than their love of the dance.  Most importantly, they are willing to put in the time, effort, love, and dedication it takes to do so.

The Ayaat Dance Troupe performs regularly at Restaurant, Seminar, and Workshop Shows, cultural and international events, charity events and other private events and parties.

Although the Ayaat Dancers are given frequent performance opportunities, membership in the troupe is not just about performing or providing a social club for dancers. The purpose of Ayaat is to promote the true essence and beauty of Middle Eastern Dance and to provide a creative environment for dancers with genuine love for this art form, where they can focus and strive for excellence while taking part in the joy of dancing!

The Dancers of Ayaat stay busy even when they are off stage.  If not in practice, class, or rehearsal, they can often be found assisting in Aya’s classes, organizing and promoting various events, working with beginner students in preparation for shows, and accompanying or representing Aya at events which she is unable to attend.

So if you are one of Aya’s students or fans, you are bound to run into the Ayaat Dancers!
